Brazil was astonishing, Ecuador and Peru tied and the Group B is still open

(June 8 2016) ) Haiti was eliminated from the competition by the Brazilian team when Brazil beat the Central-American team by a score of 7-1, and Brazil gets their first 3 points of the tournament. Peru and Ecuador tied 2-2 in an amazing game in Phoenix, so both teams still have chances to reach the quarterfinals.

Day 5

Brazil did an excellent job by winning their first Copa América Centenario game. The rival, Haiti, was no competition to Dunga’s team; however, Haiti managed to score a goal against Brazil. James Marcelín was the one scoring for Haiti in the first 25 minutes of the second half when the score was already 5-0.

The "Scratch" finally won 7-1 with a Philippe Coutinho’s hat-trick, followed by 2 goals by Renato Augusto’s and finally Gabriel Barbosa and Lucas Lima each scored 1 goal. Now, Brazil will a need good performance to finish in first place next June 12th against Peru in the Gillette Stadium.

In Phoenix, Ecuadorians and Peruvians were the main protagonists in an exciting match with a lot of emotions. Ricardo Gareca’s team opened the score quickly with Christian Cueva and Édison Flores scoring goals, but Enner Valencia managed to score a goal for Ecuador near the end of the first half, while in the second half with a goal by Miller Bolaños they were able to tie the game.

With a draw, the "Tri" remains in a better position for the last game, considering that the next game is against the eliminated Haiti, while Peru must win and eliminate Brazil to make its way through the Copa América Centenario's quarterfinals.

The group C’s second games will be disputed this Thursday with two big games: Uruguay vs Venezuela will be playing in the Lincoln Financial Field, while Mexico will be doing its best against Jamaica in the Rose Bowl.
