Goals and great soccer in the 3rd day of the Copa America Centenario
(June 5th, 2016) Mexico and Venezuela are the winners and are now leading Group C. Mexico had a solid 3-1 win over Uruguay in a spectacular match, while Jamaica couldn’t beat Venezuela, who won 1-0.
The 3rd day of the Copa America Centenario started in Chicago. Venezuela versus Jamaica opened Group C in the Soldier Field Stadium, where Josef Martinez scored for the ``Vinotinto’’ 15 minutes after the beginning of the first half. In the 23rd minute of the first half, Rodolph Austin was sent off due to a brutal foul against Rondón.
The game between Mexico and Uruguay was by far the best game since the Copa America Centenario started. Mexico stole a 3-0 win; goals were scored by Alvaro Pereira (own goal), Rafael Márquez and Héctor Herrera, while Diego Godin scored one goal for Uruguay. Both teams were put down to 10 players after the following players were sent off: Vecino from Uruguay and Guardado from Mexico.
The competition continues this Monday with a great match between Argentina, one of the candidates, and Chile, the defending champions. Before that, The Copa America Centenario will be introducing Panama and Bolivia, both teams will be playing in the Citrus Bowl.
